If Nancy and Mike look familiar to you loyal Studio Cabral blog visitor's that's because their engagement session was photographed in beautiful Montreal (you remember that one ). Their wedding was just as fun to photograph and we think it shows. Nancy and Mike's bridal party gets our vote for one of this year's top 5, their energy really helped all day.

The emotion that followed us all day was felt by all involved, especially Nancy and Mike's parents. It was all tears of joy, we were told.

Not quite sure if we are the only ones who have noticed, but has it rained every weekend of the summer? For us it seems as though we wake up on Saturday ready for a great day and as soon as you look up here comes the rain. It is not all doom and gloom, I mean does it seem like it bothered Vanessa and Nelson on their wedding day? Just look at the photos, you can't take the smiles off their faces.

One of our favourite spots to photograph is Queen West in downtown Toronto. It is a very cool area with many great shops and let's just say some colourful people. We really love the graffiti and to us, is a form of art unto itself. Jessica and Joe are a very hip couple and we feel that this location fit them perfectly. Even though the rain did not help the festivities, we managed to have a great day for Deaana & Brian. There were so many familiar faces, which makes us believe we must be doing a good job. By nights end we spoke to 6 different couples whom we have had the pleasure of being the photographers at their wedding's over the past few years. It is a very special feeling to have been there on someones very special day and to talk about all the memories we share. We look forward to running into all of our couples as the years pass.

Betsy and Dean's wedding was special for us not only because it was a beautiful day complete with a super bridal party, but we couldn't stop ourselves from feeling proud. Proud that we have great men and woman in our armed forces who many times pay the ultimate sacrifice just so we can live the way we do. At Betsy and Dean's wedding we met many who travel far from home, away from family and friends just to fight for us. We heard many stories through out the day that gave us a new found respect for anyone who serves their country. We at Studio Cabral salute all of you serving Canada and we also wish Betsy and Dean a long and wonderful life together.

What is an Epic Engagement Session?

We’re glad you asked!

A Studio Cabral Epic Engagement Session is an extension of our regular engagement sessions. We offer longer coverage, multiple wardrobe changes and also one time use locations. It is a wonderful way to maximize your experience in a unique way and truly get great images that last a lifetime. Each couple that gets an epic engagement session will receive a complimentary guest signing book from Studio Cabral. The few that we have produced have gone over very well at some of our recent receptions.
Jenny and Phil were in part one of the major reasons we have introduced the epic engagement session. They came to us with a request for something completely different and unique. Out of our first few conversations we came to this very simple conclusion. Our list has grown to well over 30 very unique locations that deserve a little extra time. So if you think you got what it takes to be “Epic”, give us a call.

After many, many years searching through countless cities through out North America. I finally found the elusive cereals from my childhood. With a "Indiana Jones" type search that had me looking through grocery store after grocery store, this past Sunday I found stacks of boxes in the great city of Buffalo. There they were just staring back at me, Franken Berry and Boo Berry. I let out a scream and ran to them and after a long embrace on to the checkout.

They taste just as great as when I was 4 years old.

Ashbridges Bay is one of our favorite spots in Toronto for engagement photos. There is always something happening and it is truly one of the only areas in Toronto that you can call a beach. Nancy & Marcio's Wedding!!!

Nancy and Marcio's wedding had a bit of everything. At least everything we at Studio Cabral like. First things first a couple that truly love each other helps, it makes for a really enjoyable experience. A bridal party that is just a bit over the top is always welcomed by us, and Nancy and Marcio's bridal party where just that. The whole group was up for anything and with the rain we had all day it was extremely helpful to make the wedding day fun. Their wedding reception was held at the beautiful Ambiance Banquet hall, a place where we always feel at home. We at Studio Cabral wish Nancy and Marcio a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Daisy & Gian-Carlo's Wedding !!!

Daisy and Gian-Carlo had a wedding day full of surprises. A wedding ceremony that was planned for a beautiful outdoor location was forced indoors due to a very cold and rain filled afternoon. The unofficial slogan of the wedding was “it was meant to be”. When the rain rolled in we just said out loud “it was meant to be”, when it reached zero degrees celsius we looked at each other and said “it was meant to be”. What a great attitude to have, and it made for a wonderful day. The bridal party were a perfect group to have around. They never ran to the bus when the rain came in, they wanted to share every moment of the wedding day. That kind of dedication is what makes for great photos and a very comfortable environment through out the day which lead to a great reception.

Chris's Random Thoughts - Confessions from the Bridal Shows.

After many years participating in countless bridal shows we have learned one thing, the more things change the more they stay the same. Here are some examples:

- It will never cease to amaze me how long people will wait in line for free cake. A word to the wise, come on the last day of the bridal show about 20 minutes before it closes. You will walk away with well over 5 slices, if not a full slab.

- When enjoying down time always try to stay productive. This year I took the time to find out what my "Jersey Shore" nickname would be. For those who need to know it is "C-Train".

- Every year there is one song that is played over and over. This year's song is from "The Black Eyed Peas". We all gotta feeling tonight's gonna be a good night, but we don't have to be reminded every 4 minutes.

- Out of curiosity, did anyone get the name of the gentleman in the dress?...You read that right.

- We really feel for all those guys who are pulling those bags full of flyer's around. You always seem to be having such a great time, especially knowing you are missing an N.F.L playoff game.

- We always appreciate the free coffee...Thanks to the large department stores.

A special thanks goes to all of our friends, both new and old within the industry. You all help make our bridal shows very successful, year in and year out. We will see you all through out 2010.

It has been such a long time since I have written one of these. I will try my best to post one once a month from this point forward. So without further a due.....Chris’s random thoughts.

- It is funny when you watch a movie that you don’t expect to learn something from, and then you do. I just watched “Zombieland” which I thought would be a movie that I could just shut my brain off and enjoy. But something clicked when they state the rules of Zombieland, this interesting tidbit of information came along. “Enjoy the little things” it is one of the rules of survival in the movie and I think it can be used in everyday life. But maybe that is just me.

- So officially I have a guilty pleasure. It is the tv show “Glee”. Laugh all you want, I love it. Where else can you find a way to tie in a song by “The Police” and a song by “Gary Puckett and the union gap”. I dare you to find a better version of “Imagine” not done by John Lennon.

- By the end of this sentence I better receive a good reason why the Toronto Blue Jays are trying to trade Roy Halladay, and don’t tell it has to do with money. Any and all comments welcome. If he does get traded it better not be to Boston. My wife's family will never let me hear the end of it.

- Amidst all of this Vampire phenomenon taking over the planet right now. The only thing good coming out of it is the show “True Blood” which features my favorite song right now “Bad Things” by Jace Everett. The intro for the show alone is worth it. Trust me. Speaking of vampires, I don’t understand what is all the hype about “Twilight”. Everyone knows that the only vampire novels that are worth anything have the words written by Anne Rice included.

- Now for some useless information. We received absolutely no snow in Toronto for the month of November for the first time in 70 years.

- Who needs enemies when you have a teammate like Keith Ballard, just ask Florida Panther goalie Tomas Vokoun.

- Just this week I witnessed something really strange. A mailman was using a taxi to deliver his mail. Why is that strange to me. I would have filmed it on my phone but I can’t because I was driving and I obey the law.

- I just received a phone call from my friend Mark and apparently I have to stop everything and get to a movie theatre and watch “Ninja Assassin”. So off I go.

When we met with Jennifer and Steven all they kept saying was we want to have fun. They wanted their pictures to show their personalities and to make people smile. With that in mind we photographed their engagement session at High Park in Toronto. We hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed photographing them.

It has been awhile since we have written on our blog and we are sorry, it’s just that we have been really busy. We have been scouting many new and unique locations to photograph. Caitlin and Tony’s wedding was no exception. Their wedding was photographed at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. With a bridal party like theirs any location would have been great but when they mentioned the Living Arts Centre we became excited. We love fresh locations and couples who allow us to be creative. The wedding was made even more special with the help from Oasis Convention Centre, who always make our jobs easier. We were entertained by the very talented Grenville Pinto and the crew from Sound Sensations made the party a special one. Caitlin and Tony we at Studio Cabral wish you the best of luck.

We had a fun filled afternoon in beautiful Niagara on the lake with two great people. Why are they great? They bought me lunch. Leaving Toronto for the day was like a mini work vacation. A special thanks to Jeff from Pillitteri Estates Winery for all of the hospitality. I am sure we will be up there soon.
